Here is an original WW2 M-1 Fixed Bale Helmet with a 2nd Pattern St Clair Liner.
The McCord fixed bale shell has really good paintwork and cork is in very good overall condition. Both chin straps are present and are Flat steel variant.
The liner is a 2nd pattern St Clair liner which has aluminium square washers and rayon suspension. The liner shell has 100% of its flat matt paint and like with many St Clair liners there are a few fractures in the liner which is common due to the low pressure pressing method of production . The sweatband and nape strap are present and along with the suspension are very clean. The SC maker stamp can be clearly seen in the dome of the liner.
The all important fixed chin strap is present and correct.
Behind the small square helmet net is a medic arm band. By the colouring on the armband and the stiffness of the material it has been with this helmet for a long time. My belief is this helmet set has been together a very long time.
This another helmet from my personal collection.
