An Original WW2 US Camouflage painted Jungle Liner with Rayon Suspension made by Westinghouse.
These liners are considered to be some of the rarest liners to collect with only around 500-600K ever being made and reports say that up to 300K of the liners in the last production run were repainted green as the jungle liner were quite quickly discontinued due to the introduction of the camouflage helmet cover.
In my time collecting jungle liners i have come across 4 patterns, this is by far the rarest variant it has rayon suspension with un-painted A washers. I believe under 150K of these liner were originally produced.
This particular liner is in very good condition with clear paintwork like alot of early liners the paintwork is a little flaky on the top where the paint has not bonded with the shiny high pressure liner
The rayon is in very good overall condition and it is complete with cotton sweatband and nape which was very common with these transitional liners. The green painted leather chin strap is also present.
I liner that most collections are missing...
