St Clair Liner - 4th Pattern - Fixed Chinstrap
Here is an original WW2 M-1 St Clair 4th Pattern Liner.
If you know anything about St Clair liners you will not need me to tell you how rare this liner is in this combination.
This liner features OD-3 cotton suspension held to the liner by aluminium A-washers and has folded edges. The leather sweatband is a matching double wire variant.
As with most fixed chin straps this one is long gone, but both buckles are still riveted to the liner.
The liner shell has it's original matt paint finish although it does look as though it has been painted white and stripped back at some stage. The shell itself is in very good overall condition with only one small crack to the rim, again very common with low pressure St Clair liners.
The painted SC is clearly visible in the crown of the liner.
This liner is from my personal collection of St Clair liners, which i have decided to sell to concentrate on other things.
A really rare liner...
